Master Human Rights
A three-semester interdisciplinary and international master programme on human rights (Master of Arts, M.A.) is offered at the University Erlangen-Nürnberg by the Chair in Public International Law at the School of Law, and the Chair in Human Rights and Human Rights Politics at the Institute for Political Science. The programme encompasses courses on the philosophical, political and legal foundations of human rights.It also offers the opportunity to choose specialisation courses in areas such as economic, social and cultural rights, freedom of religion and belief, gender and human rights, human rights of refugees and others.
The programme can be commenced only in the winter semester (October to February); applications can be handed in until the end of June for the following winter. The language of instruction is English and there is no prerequisite of German skills.
Graduates of the master programme will be equipped with the theoretical and practical skills to pursue professional activities in different human rights contexts, such as in public administration, international and non-governmental organisations, academia and education, the media, interest groups and associations, as well as in specialised law firms and corporations.
